It’s March … meaning Madness is in the air. Sixty-four well-oiled competitors (for the most part) will tip off and do battle — working their way through the tediously-constructed bracket and toward ultimate supremacy.
We speak, of course, of the Weekly Volcano’s Tournament of Pizza, which is up and running on our blog, Spew. Sixty-four area pizza joints were selected and seeded by readers throughout February, and now the time has come to see who’s best.
Only one can be crowned king — so vote early, often and DAILY on Spew. Use the bracket in the March 10 print edition of the Volcano to guide you through the daily matchups.
Then, on April 4, join us at the Schooner Pub in Lakewood for the Official Tournament of Pizza Party — our winner will be announced during halftime of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship game.

Fan Club Sports Bar ByFar! for the homemade crust, Sauce, and fresh ingredients. Such as fresh mushrooms rather than canned. Not to mention the crispy thin crust!

I've tried a lot of pizza in my day and Pizza Casa is numero uno. There sauce has a perfect balance of sweetness and savory and there sausage is the best sausage I have ever had. Check it out, you won't be dissappointed

Spuds on pacific...even after spur sold a couple of years ago. They have kept it Spuds way...and Karen is the best bartender. Place is always spot on for food...never had a bad meal there in 30 years

Trackside Pizza in Puyallup! Hands down the best tasting pizza in the northwest! If you haven't tried it, you have got to. There's a reason why a family owned restaraunt like this has made it in such a tough economy. The food speaks for itself!! Go Trackside, Go!

I LOVE The Fan Club Pizza, with their handmade crust! The Verones Sausage is the best! Was also very happy to find out they had Mens Room Red Ale. Only place in lakewood that I know of! Not only is the pizza #1 but they whole menu is AWESOME!!!!!

Aversanos in Sumner. A great variety of toppings and I like to substitute Alfredo sauce for the usual pizza sauce, even though their sauce is really great.

Don't know how Rollies even made the finals..it's a dump, it STINKS and the foul mouthed employee topped the experience off. Can only imagine what the kitchen must look like...YUCK!! Won't be back. Pizza crust wasn't even homemade..where was the sauce?

Rollies is a classy place for classy people...and for blueyes....you're. Opinion is clearly the miniority..rollies has been serving lakewood for 35 years and everyones entitled to terrible opinions. It is a bar not a church,sometimes its gets a little rowdy but thatsthe nature of the business.perhaps you should take your pizza to a library? And the kitchen has passed everysingle health dept. Check in the last twenty years....ignorant people these days...

AJ..you must have no class..if you think that Rollies Tavern is classy. I am still laughing at that one..... 35 yrs and NO renovations..it is the SAME ..and STINKS of dirty oil. Carpets are filthy and I'll bet the walls have never been painted. Classy? Not by a long shot. Schooner has been around just as long and looks very decent. You obviously did not check out ANY of the other pizza places or you would never make that statement. Rowdy? It wasn't at all the day I was in. Just a foul mouth bartender telling the owner to "Shut the F*** up" VERY classy, indeed. We ate our pizza and left.
