Today is Black Friday. Do you know where your hand sanitizer is?

Go Local Tacoma and the national Shift Your Shopping campaign reminds the looming Black Friday swarm to take it easy on the big box stores and see what's being sold at the Mom 'n' Pop.

I'm buyin' local this Xmas, thereby "strengthening the North Pole economy, creating local toy jobs and building communities." Yes, building, bringing people together ... unlike the GOP's order of importance on immigration policies, which was, quote, "[to be] richer, better, and more inclusive."

Oh my.

The Weekly Volcano folks have the word on this whole Shift Your Shopping movement here.

And the local rag also has a toy bag full of local gift suggestions here. Help generate up to two to three times as much economic activity in the community, and get some sweet gifts too.

Joyful Maria Halter Apron

SANTA SAYS >>>>

I think holiday bundt cake is a lot like sex: great bundt is one of life's ultimate pleasures, but if faced with nothing but a supermarket Sara Lee's dredged from the icebox, well, even the crummiest of bundts is better than no bundt at all.

And Mrs. Claus makes the best bundt I've ever tasted.

Lately, though, Mrs. Claus has been dropping the irritation bomb on me. She's been asking if her ol' apron makes her look fat.

Jeez.

I'm tired of sleeping with the reindeer. It's time for a new apron.

The Joyful Maria Halter Apron by Heavenly Hostess has a fashionable design with front pockets made out of 100 percent fine cotton. I think it'll look fab on her. The apron will score me brownie points, and hopefully some brownies, too.

If you want in on this, JZ Rose in Yelm carries it. And while you're there, grab a classic Christmas decoration or two.
