With the economy frozen over like my trout pond at the North Pole, the missus and I have told the elves we won't be matching their 401Ks this year. Instead, the elves will receive the next best thing - salmon meals from the Pacific Northwest. Specifically, our pre-holiday jaunt through Johnny's Fine Foods's website reveals a special salmon pack, which includes a cedar barbecue board, salmon sauce and seasoning. Yes, the salmon isn't included – like we said, times are tough.
The elves will get over it. Nothing says "love" like salmon, and Johnny's Fine Foods, a Tacoma tradition, knows salmon inside and out.

Poking around the website a bit more, we discovered Johnny's also operates fish stores. We'll be dropping notes in stockings that on Fridays the seafood is only $5 for such items as panko-breaded cod, Parmesan-crusted tilapia and breaded bay scallops. We found the specials on its Facebook page.
