The Muppets have retired and almost been forgotten, when Walter, his human pal, Gary (Jason Segel), and Gary's girlfriend, Mary (Amy Adams), take a trip to visit the old Muppet Studios. They find them derelict, threatened by a millionaire who wants to level the ground and drill for oil. So, yes, hey, kids! Let's put on a show! The Muppets and some human friends stage a telethon to save the studios. This is a funny and wickedly self-aware musical that explains by its very premise why some younger viewers may not be up-to-date on Muppet lore. - Three stars
