Weekly Volcano's Review

A spin-off of a fake trailer from Grindhouse, Machete is about as meta as meta can get. It's art inspired by art inspired by art.

Danny Trejo, that great, grizzled character actor, reprises his earlier role as Machete - a man with no name who's hired to assassinate a politician, but is double-crossed. Now, he's out for gory revenge, with the assistance of a femme fatale (Michelle Rodriguez).

Director Robert Rodriguez continues his streak of being the only man in Hollywood giving Cheech Marin work. Except, this time, he's reuniting Marin with his Nash Bridges costar, Don Johnson (whom the trailer, hilariously, claims to be "introducing").
