Steven Spielberg's lively 3-D adventure was inspired by the popularity of the comic book hero Tintin. He's successful in bringing the artistry of Herge, Tintin's creator, into a third dimension and evoking the charm of the original, although there's more violence than you might expect. The tale involves a search for a lost treasure. Providing voice and motion-capture performances are Jamie Bell, Andy Serkis, Daniel Craig, Nick Frost, Simon Pegg and Toby Jones. - Three and a half stars
