We hate to say it, but this was most likely the last Third Thursday that art lovers could walk the streets hitting gallery after gallery without umbrellas, boots and coats in blowing rain.

Helm Gallery opening night was heavily attended. Crowds turned out to see the much-anticipated first viewing of over 300 donated pieces of art during Tacoma’s Third Thursday Artwalk. Helm Gallery co-founders Sean Alexander and Peter Lynn looked pleased. Show opening attendees’ faces showed a myriad of responses to the art from around the world, puzzled and curious to surprised and thrilled.

Across Broadway at Sanford and Sons, Jeff Olson and James Hume both showed new work. Hume debuted new prints of privately owned canvases in the Middle Floor Merchants exhibit space.

A few blocks away at Embellish The Syrens played pop punk passionately at Jeremy Gregory’s art opening.
