THE LUCKY ONES: Three soldiers, home on a month’s leave from Iraq, find themselves on an odyssey from New York to Las Vegas. Tim Robbins plays a career Army sergeant who is returning to St. Louis. Rachel McAdams is a private who is heading for Vegas to return a guitar belonging to her boyfriend, who was killed in the war. Michael Pena is a sergeant who fears meeting his girlfriend after suffering a groin injury. The characters are likable, warm, sincere and often funny. Not a war movie, but a people movie.
