This Fircrest boutique carries local designs

After spending 11 years with Nordstrom and the last seven with The Sports Authority as regional visual coordinator, Michelle Baerg, owner of Good Karma Boutique, proves she has a good eye and good taste. Baerg had been making jewelry in her spare time for years and opened her shop two years ago as a way to sell it and other fanciful accessories and gifts.
As an artist herself, Baerg definitely sees the value and importance of featuring local designers in her shop. Visiting Good Karma is like having a personal shopper that has selected items for your perusal and has them all displayed in one room, just for you, for private shopping.
“I love color and texture, two things that fashion would be nothing without. You can have a simple black outfit but add a great scarf, belt or jewelry and make it a ‘great’ outfit just by giving it depth and texture through accessorizing,” Baerg says. “I try to stick to basic lines that do not fade with time, stay classic.”
Baerg enjoys Nordstrom as much as dropping by TJ Maxx to hunt fun finds to spruce up boring basics. Accessorizing is easy, with so many great pieces available right in her shop; necklaces made in Fircrest hang from display racks glinting in the light along with sparkly earrings, eye-catching handbags, deconstructed hats, and delicate bangles made by Glorious Girl, Creative Forces, Bobby’s Girl, and CB Designs.
