Pacific Gallery Artists’ January meeting looks interesting as artist Lynn Di Nino — the creative force behind community and local artists collaborative events such as the now extremely popular 100th Monkey Parties and last year’s Chaos Into Order at Sixth Avenue’s Art on the Ave — will be in the house as their featured demonstration artist.  Easily remembered for the 2004 Figure Head Roll at downtown Tacoma’s First Night celebration, Di Nino will discuss her work and share her knowledge of art in action in the community.

Can you come?

Absolutely. You don’t need to be a member of the 62-year-old non-profit PGA organization. The monthly meetings are open to all parties, be they artists or just community members with piqued interest in area art in general. Throughout the year, PGA hosts members-only shows, collaborates with other groups on artistic projects, and woks to strength public support and understanding of Pacific Northwest art. Membership is open to 2D and 3D artists with original work. 4D artists will not be allowed. Held the second Tuesday of every month, PGA meetings are designed to be an avenue for guests and members to stimulate interest in art in the community, share information regarding business and enjoy some relaxed socializing.

[South Park Community Center, Tuesday, Jan. 8, 7-9 p.m., 4851 South Tacoma Way, Tacoma, www.pacificgalleryartists.org]
