Student, YMCA exercise instructor, and Biella by Ruth Michelle Day Spa & Salon retail and sales manager Alissa Mayzak knew she wanted a special look for the launch event that presented the grand reopening of the salon formerly known as Avanti Salon and Spa.
She had in mind the idea of channeling Audrey Hepburn as Holly Golightly in “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” and managed to pull the look off from unlikely sources.
The dress was a last-minute find at Banana Republic (wasn’t that the other Hepburn?) while the shoes were Nordstrom; the earrings that screamed ’60s glamour came from Claire’s Boutique at the Tacoma Mall, while the necklace and bracelet came from Target.
Probably Mayzak’s favorite detail of the evening isn’t shown in the picture: the playful back of her airy chignon is embellished with a flower crafted of her own hair by Denise Francis at Biella.
All that’s missing? That super-cool cigarette holder (with a candy cigarette!)
