The logjam of cars on Pearl Street last weekend attested to the success of the Taste of Tacoma. Though there might have been higher-quality cuisine to be had elsewhere in town, with less waiting in line, the shopping, foods and overall vibe of the festive, diverse crowd left smiles on many faces.

And of course, there were carnies with the games and rides, and carnies are to festivals what cowbells are to rock.

How can you go wrong?
