Organic music meets inorganic music

Finn Riggins has all the elements that define the future of music. The music is organic (man made) mixed with inorganic (computer generated). It’s socially responsible, energetic and dance friendly. It is co-ed and co-written. And it’s at Le Voyeur Saturday.

Finn Riggins is three friends, living together and touring the country together in a 13-passenger van. These longtime friends met in college and still reside together in Moscow, Idaho.
Eric Gilbert is in charge of keyboard, synth, organ, accordion, guitar, sampler and lead vocals. Sharing the lead vocal duties is Lisa Simpson, who also plays guitar, keyboard and produces the occasional Casio beat. Cam Bouiss plays drums, steel drum, drum pad, mouth guitar, and also sings a bit. Everything is performed live — there are no pre-recorded background tracks.

All three collaborate on songwriting. The music is unique. If you believe Finn Riggins’ MySpace tag, it’s progressive/experimental/ post punk, but like the ingredients on the outside of a can of spam, the elements alone cannot describe the final product. Because you can’t wrap a completely unique record in the average shrink-wrapped package, and because within each member beats the heart of a true environmentalist, these DIY artists hand decorate 5¼-inch floppy disk casings and use them as CD covers.
