Sitting in the lobby of the Sheraton Tacoma Hotel as Wintergrass swirled around him, Josh Carter looked conspicuously non-banjoesque and took some time to describe elements of his look for the Weekly Volcano.

The fabulously zebra Guess? pants were found at urbanXchange, several sizes too large.  Carter’s girlfriend (coincidentally last week’s Whatcha Wearin’ model) is a whiz at the sewing machine, though, so she altered them to fit Carter. 

Carter’s Dead Kennedys shirt looks vintage but “probably isn’t,” he says; it was an Internet find.
The Italian leather shoes on Carter’s feet were a gift from a friend while the argyle socks (note how the red picks up the T-shirt — nice touch!) were Value Village finds.  Finishing off the look, the hat is from urbanXchange, which Carter dyed to mute the colors; the pins are Carter’s own creations; and the necklace really is a dog collar.  But the pièce de résistance: it’s held together with a Louis Vuitton lock.
